A true Yorkshire love story

As you know, our love for delicious, Yorkshire soup is an ever-lasting one and one that is only strengthened through our local, Yorkshire-based suppliers that bring some of their delicious ingredients and produce to our soups!

So, what better time than the month of love to give a special shoutout to our suppliers and share our love for these brilliant folk and their passion for produce.

In a similar fashion to your stereotypical romantic novel, we were introduced, we immediately knew we were a perfect match, we joined together to become one, and now we live happily ever after.

Have a gander below to not only gather some inspiration for your next weekend trip out but to discover a little more about our local suppliers that help bring our fresh, hearty flavours to your soup bowl.

Black Sheep Brewery

If you’ve tasted our Golden Onion Soup with a splash of Black Sheep Ale, you’ll be familiar with the well-loved hoppy flavours this Yorkshire Ale brings to the party.

We teamed up with the guys at Black Sheep Brewery, not only because we were practically neighbours  – they’re based just around the corner in Masham – but, because there’s no finer duo than caramelised onion and rich, finely-brewed ale. So we knew we had to bring the two together and let the flavours do their thing!

Black Sheep itself has been a champion of independent brewing and traditional methods since the founder Paul Theakston strayed from the family brewery and set up on his own. If you fancy delving into the history of the Black Sheep, you may want to take a trip to the Brewery and book on to one of their tours, or if you’re partial to the flavours of one of Yorkshire’s perfect pints, you may fancy yourself a tipple in their bar and kitchen.

Wensleydale Creamery

We think we can speak on behalf of nearly everyone when we say the way to our hearts is… cheese. Cheese is the way! That’s why we partnered with the Yorkshire cheese-making experts at Wensleydale Creamery to bring their next level flavours to our Yorkshire soups.

The Wensleydale Creamery is based in the scenic market town of Hawes (in the Yorkshire Dales) surrounded by the stunning rolling hills of Dales’ landscapes. They handcraft their Yorkshire cheese, sticking to a recipe that’s been used for years  – after all, why change perfection?

Open to the public, you can visit their shop or book on to one of their cheese-filled experiences.

You’ll find their traditional Yorkshire cheeses in our Tomato & Red Pepper Soup, our Broccoli & Yorkshire Cheddar Soup and our Cauliflower with Fountains Gold Cheddar & Kale Soup – if you haven’t tasted them, you need to give them a try!

Herbs Unlimited

We wanted to pack as many local, fresh, flavourful ingredients into our soups as possible and that’s why we chose to team up with the guys at Herbs Unlimited to source the freshest of the fresh!

Herbs unlimited have been supplying the UK with their locally grown produce for over 27 years now and we’re extremely lucky to have them just around the corner from Delicious HQ, in Thirsk. As a local Yorkshire business ourselves, we’re thrilled to be supporting another local business in their venture to supply the country with high quality, freshly grown herbs.

Wondering which of our soups you can find their herbaceous ingredients? All of them. That’s right, we were that impressed we packed all of our soups with their herby ingredients to give them an extra flavourful kick! Don’t stop until you’ve tried them all!

Embleton Hall Dairies

The guys over at Embleton Hall Dairies are a local, family-run business that started supplying dairy from their very own herd of dairy cows on their farm back in 1984. It didn’t take long before the word spread about their fresh, flavour-packed cream and milk and they expanded their business to keep up with the dairy demand!

They’ve now grown to become an established Yorkshire milk supplier and source their dairy from various farmers across the region, always putting the welfare of the cows first.

We teamed up with the team at Embleton Hall Dairies to add their fresh milk and cream to our soup recipes, such as; Super Broccoli Soup with Yorkshire Cheddar and Mushroom Soup with Wholegrain Black Rice! All of our soups are packed with extra flavour thanks to suppliers like Embleton!
